3 Easy Steps To Clean Off Stains From Your Carpet

Many households purchase carpets from furniture retailers for home decors to add a little ‘bling’ to the atmosphere. However, that may all backfire if it’s ruined with patches of stains caused by that cup of coffee, a glass of red wine, or sometimes, even urine from your pets…

Regardless of the cause, we provide you three easy ways to clean off (most of) these pesky stains easily.

1. The first step

First and foremost, immediately remove the excess spillage to lessen the impact from the stain. This is an absolute must if you don’t want to have a permanent stain on your carpets.

You may use a clean absorbent cloth or even spoon or butter knives, depending on the nature of what you’ve just spilled. Also, please do not rub, but always blot — Rubbing may instead cause you more headaches!

2. Apply stain removers

Next, spray on some stain remover onto a clean cloth, then, gently blot the stained parts using the cloth while applying some pressure with your fingers.

Afterward, you should continue blotting on the stained areas and only stop when you can no longer see any visible stains or when you cannot remove any more stains.

stain remover: vinegar, water & baking soda

Now, not everyone may have got their stain removers prepared, so don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Get ready some vinegar, water, and baking soda because we’re about to DIY your very own bottle of stain remover.

Steps:

  1. Stir 1 teaspoon of baking soda into a bottle of 250ml warm water.
  2. Add about 1 teaspoon of white vinegar into the mixture.
  3. Stir, and you’re all done.

Now sit back, relax, and wait for about 10 to 15 minutes for the stain remover to do its final trick before you remove it from your carpet.

 3. Remove the stain remover

Before the final step, use another clean absorbent cloth to blot your carpet on the stained areas to remove any residue left of the stains and stain remover alike.

Finally, let’s get your freshly cleaned rug to dry with a blowdryer.

A word of advice though: We strongly recommend engaging the professionals if your carpets are made of highly delicate fabrics, or if they hold a strong significance to yourself, as you wouldn’t want to risk any irreversible damages such as wear, tear, or discolorations.
